KRATON (SULTAN PALACE)
Sultan Palace, or Kraton, built in the grand and elegant Javanese architectural style, lies in the center of the municipality. It was built in 1790 by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono I.
Kraton is a model of traditional Javanese palace architectur. Up to now, Kraton still server as the Sultan Palace. It opens everyday 08.00 – 13.00, but on Friday it closes at 12.00.







MERAPI VOLCANO
Merapi Volcano, 2,968 ms above the sea level, is one of the most active volcanos in the world. During the bright sunny day, it invites and challenges adventurous people to climb it. There are two tracks to climb. The first is through Kinahrejo, about 2 kms from the mountain resort of Kaliurang. Kinahrejo is about 9 kms to the peak of merapi. It takes 10 hours to reach the top.




PRAMBANAN TEMPLE
It consists of three court yards. The Sanjaya Dynasty built a 47 meters high Hindu Temple in the 9th century and surrounded it wiht several small temples called “perwara” temples. Prambanan temple is only a hundred meters off the main street, located about 17 kms from Jogja. It opens everyday from 06.00 – 17.30.









BOROBUDUR TEMPLE
Borobudur temple is the one “must see” site on the calendar of any visitor in Jogja. It is a magnificent Buddhist monument constructed between 750 and 850 AD when Central Java was still a Buddhist kingdom. Nowdays, Borobudur is a UNESCO World heritage site with nine levels and 1460 carved stone relief’s telling the story of Buddha and representing the steps form the earthly realm to nirvana. The location is about 42 kms from Jogja. It opens from 06.00 – 17.15 everyday.
